Founded in 2016 by Virginie Mouseler, Beagles of Burgundy is much more than a simple association.
In 2004, after adopting beagles born on a Burgundy farm, Virginie was confronted with the scale of the animal experimentation industry and the unjust euthanasia that results from it.
The feeling that saving only three beagles was not enough pushed her to dream of a refuge where survivors could be welcomed, cared for, and loved.
After 15 years of determination, this vision became reality with the opening of the Maison des Beagles Libres in 2019. Located in the heart of the forest in Burgundy, this refuge offers a space of freedom on ten hectares where beagles can play, run, and explore wooded plots.
By giving these animals a second chance, the association creates a warm home where beagles find happiness again, before sharing it with humans eager to welcome a companion. Each adoption then represents a victory for love and compassion.
